Media, 19063 Upper Providence Twp.

Sat., October 9th Upper Chichester Twp. Municipal Bldg.

All events will take place rain or shine from 9 AM to 3 PM

This Program is a community service to the residents of Delaware County and is not open to businesses, institutions or industry.

West Nile Virus warning

Parkside has been notified that we have tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

The County will give us 48 hours notice, prior to come out and spraying.  All residents are urged to keep grass and weeds to a minimum.  Anything in your yard that can hold water (including something as small as a bottle cap) should be turned over or removed to eliminate standing water of any kind.

More information about the West Nile Virus can be found by clicking here.  Please let your neighbors know this information especially if you see standing water in their yard, even bird baths.

From the PA west Nile Virus site:

It is not necessary to limit any outdoor activities, unless local officials advise you otherwise. However, you can and should try to reduce your risk of being bitten by mosquitoes. In addition to reducing stagnant water in your yard, make sure all windows and doors have screens, and that all screens are in good repair.

Warning to Residents!

The Parkside Police department would like to remind residents to lock your car doors.  There have been some cases of items being stolen out of cars.  In all cases the cars were unlocked vehicles. No cars have actually been broken into.  So we would like to remind all residents to please lock your car doors, whether they are in your driveway or on the street.

Cleaning up after pets

The weather has gotten nicer and Spring is near!  That makes it a great time to go out and walk, ride a bike or just be outside enjoying the nice weather.  Many people walk their dogs more often now, too.  We would like to remind everyone to clean up after your pets when you walk them.  There is an ordinance for Parkside which requires you to clean up after your pet.  Failure to do will result in a citation.  This is our town and we should respect it and care about it.  We should also be considerate enough to not make a mess on our neighbors' lawns or on the sidewalks.  A complaint came up about the amount of feces found on the side walks and people's yards.  Again, please carry a bag with you and clean up after your pet has done its business.

Bulk Trash Collection

Bulk Trash Collection is now twice a year.  Once in the Spring and once in the Fall.  The dates for 2010 are Tuesday April 6th and Tuesday October 5th.  You can also find dates for events like this on the Boro Calendar tab.
